wish my camera was working cos theres a lovely golden yellow sky over Brancepeth again, where the sun sets..to the north.. looks like a sky full of snow..changed to blood red, now its muddy grey but lovely all the same..
on calm nights with no wind we could hear Brancepeth church bells ringing..
all the way down to m.
sad that st Brandons burned down but they say its beautiful once again..
have,nt seen it but i,m gonna rectify that .. my name was in the visitors book every week when i visited my friend.
Brancepeth was always a lovely peaceful quiet village, off the top of a choc box.
when i got off the bus it was like stepping into another world,
the quiet hit you ..straightaway..
beaut. conker trees line village street i know cos i was up them every autumn.
then i took my son, i was lookout while he went up...
we played badminton in the village hall.
my friends house on front next to post office was tiny inside like a dolls house,
there were fairs and jumbles in the village hall too, many a bargain to be had.
a neighbour once bought a teapot, reputed to be from the castle. occupants,
who ever that was at the time......
we went to the stables every night when it was owned by Hedley, mr hedley had a big posh house my friend said the carpets went half way up the walls, i thought this was dead posh.
think its a house now, the stables,! in the courtyard.
.In days of yore think it was the Boyne family lived in the castle think too the daughter married Bobby shafto,
but id have to check ......keep me occupied a while...
