I retired last year after working in the public sector with people with mental health issues and physical disabilities etc. I have been thinking of setting up some sort of online support for folk who may need it.

I've only read a few of your blog entries, but they tend to be quite negative, yet on the Truckshunters' blog you sound very cheerful and upbeat. If you no longer have Ian's blog to keep you cheerful, my fear is that you will dwell on your M.E. and what you can't do. You've proved to me that you have a wonderful creative ability, and I thought if I set up a creative writing blog others, including yourself if you wish, may share inspirational verses and create stories together, etc. The focus would be on self growth in a positve arena.

I'm still pondering about the different aspects to this venture, which has been inspired by Ian and his blog.

I don't wish to use my name because if it works out I could be identified by my ex-service users and colleagues.

Incidently, I've just sent Ian an email to tell him I've deleted my story entries from his blog, and to apologise for any embarrassment he may have been caused by my use of Radio N/C presenters in the story. I take full responsibility for this as I mentioned Ian first. So don't worry anymore about it. I'm hoping he'll change his mind and start up the blog again, as quite a few people will miss the fellowship. Of course his reasons for closing the blog may be as he stated, but I doubt it.

I hope you find the site ok. The Cygnus Review is published monthly and is free. The magazines have about 20 pages, and contain articles about different authors and their books. At the back of the magazine is a section for advertisements. The whole magazine is inspirational. The books featured are sold at discounted rates. A couple of years ago it was feared that Cygnus couldn't afford to keep up the free service, so they have been asking readers to become Cygnus Supporters for aroung £10 per year. Supporters don't have to pay postage & packing for orders, so it's good value.

A few months ago, after my Mother died, I bought a book from Cygnus about Birds as Messengers. My sisters & I were convinced that a Blackbird which struck up a magnificent rendition outside Mother's window at the time of her death - in the middle of the night, was relaying some kind of message. The author believed that the English blackbird and the thrush represent 'mother' and the message is one of 'nurturing & caring,' and it now being time to look after yourself. This seemed most appropriate. I have a particularly tame female blackbird which hops around the garden near me when I'm mowing my lawns or washing my car. I felt grateful to Cygnus for providing me with the opportunity to research this information. My blackbird experience is the type of story I'd like to post on my blog. I'm sure lots of other people have encountered similar events.

I have problems with my energy levels too, but I don't think I have M.E. I know I should be more disciplined with my sleeping pattern. Lack of sleep is one of the main causes for low energy.

lovely to read about the birds but sad to hear of you mothers death..

if lack of sleeps the cause of lack of energy then thats not helping me at all.. i try..no luck.. they say as you get older you don,t need as much sleep..

and my keyboard is obviously kaput letters appear out of no where and also when posting i do it in bits.. too many,
but i forget..it looks like a bad habit, it isnt,i just can,t help it, i did it on truckshunters all the time and got in trouble for it.
